The Rehabilitation of the Zvornik Hydropower Plant, located in Mali Zvornik, Serbia, represented a significant step in the modernization of the national hydropower sector. The project was commissioned by the Electric Power Industry of Serbia, with Voith Hydro as the main contractor. Implemented under the FIDIC “Yellow Book” framework between 2014 and 2019, the project aimed to enhance efficiency and extend the operational lifespan of the facility.
IEE provided the project with engineering support and project documentation. The scope of work included the basic, detailed, and as-built design, along with consulting services throughout the entire project duration. We were also responsible for translation, certification (nostrification), and technical harmonization of all documentation in accordance with applicable local laws, standards, and regulations in the energy and construction sectors.
The project encompassed the complete rehabilitation of all four generating units and 110 kV power transformer substations, significantly improving the plant’s reliability and energy efficiency. Our contribution ensured the successful integration of modern equipment and technologies into the existing system, thereby extending the plant’s lifespan and increasing its overall performance.
