Located in southern Portugal, the Morgavel Photovoltaic Power Plant represents an important step in expanding Europe’s renewable energy infrastructure. Covering an area of 111 hectares and featuring an installed capacity of 48.87 MWp, the power plant generates approximately 110 GWh of electricity annually, contributing to Portugal’s long-term decarbonization goals and its commitment to sustainable energy production.
IEE participated in this project by developing the conceptual design, ensuring technical precision and compliance with international engineering standards. The scope of work included the optimization of panel arrangement, inverter station layout, and electrical interconnections within the photovoltaic field. The design process was carried out in close cooperation with the client, the renowned energy company RWE, enabling the seamless integration of local conditions and global expertise.
The successful completion of the Morgavel Photovoltaic Power Plant in 2021 demonstrates our company’s excellence in delivering high-quality engineering services at the international level. The project stands as a testament to the efficiency and reliability of photovoltaic technology and reflects the growing importance of renewable energy in shaping Europe’s sustainable future.
